Abstract

Purpose: The objective of this article is to present how the Resource-Based Vision encourages the reduction of Transaction Costs to meet the criteria of the Sustainability Tripod - ESG – Economic, Social and Environmental in cleantech organizations.

Methodology/approach: A multiple case study with a qualitative approach was carried out with cleantechs, combined with the content analysis technique in conjunction with data triangulation.

Originality/Relevance: Cleantechs are highly technological companies that stand out for their commitment to producing products, services or processes using only renewable resources, or few non-renewable resources.

Key findings: The technology is a great agent of the resource-based vision so that the costs of cleantech companies are reduced, according to their governance structures, while following fundamental environmental criteria to minimize aggressions to nature.

Theoretical/methodological contributions: Through analysis, it was observed that the resources used in cleantech companies lead to the achievement of the triple bottom line concepts through cost reduction around technological solutions.
